jb and me x 1

Happy Sunday! I'm popping in with a quick outfit post in collab with local boutique, jb and me. I have two outfit posts coming at you... this is the first one! Everyone is getting excited for autumn around here... boots and plaids are coming out in full force! I'm still trying to hang onto these last days of summer, especially since August is my favorite summer month. But! It's hard not to get some autumn frenzy this time of year, especially as the air gets a little cooler and you can start to bust out some of your new purchases. This outfit is a bit unique for me, but still me at the same time! I love the twist to the jeans, the worn-in boots, and the off-the-shoulder plaid with a lace bandeau styled underneath!

Date to the movies

Happy Tuesday! We're almost halfway through the week! Let's back up to the weekend though, where we had ZERO plans. Such a rarity! It was great to be able to decide what we wanted to do for a change! We ended up grabbing dinner at a mini food truck rally and having a bon fire at a friend's house on Friday. Saturday, I had a morning workout session, and we decided to do a little shopping, go out to dinner, and see a movie. I love those simple days so much! Sunday was another morning workout session, brunch, grocery shopping, and getting caught up on some things around the apartment. I feel like I'm in a good, healthy routine right now, which is so strange for summer, because usually summer is a complete whirlwind. So all good things over here!

Golden days of summer

Hi friends! I’m excited to be teaming up with Lee & Birch for the next couple of weeks to promote their Runway off Wealthy show coming up on September 14. It’s going to be at the gardens of Jeffery Roberts Design again this year, which is such a beautiful setting! They are going to have music by DJ Adrian Butler, drinks and bites from Sandy Point Beach House, ZoKo822 and MeXo, and a chance to win all sorts of raffle prizes and more! Plus, the fashion is always inspiring and gets me in the mood for fall! Be sure to head over to their Facebook page for more information, and to buy tickets! All event proceeds are donated to Kids’ Food Basket, so this is for a great cause.

Beaver Island Travel Guide

As promised, here is my full "little" travel guide to Beaver Island! We're definitely not pros of the island, but just thought I'd share where we stayed, what we ate, and what we did on the island. To be honest, this wasn't my favorite Michigan excursion we've been on. There wasn't a whole lot to do on the island... which is great if you're looking to relax and take it easy! Typically we like to have fun things to do and see when we travel (especially around Michigan), so thankfully the lighthouses took up a bit of our time. But if we didn't have the lighthouses to see, I'm not sure what else we would have done other than ride bikes, or visit the little beach, or eat/drink. But! We still enjoyed our weekend, and here are the highlights of our trip!

Beaver Island Head Light

Onto day two of our trip to Beaver Island! The second day, we knew we'd be making a huge trip to the Beaver Island Head Lighthouse on the south end of the island. Since we didn't bring our car on the ferry, we'd be making the trek by bicycle! It was a 30-mile round trip ride. Oof! But we made it, and honestly, it was one of my favorite experiences of the entire trip. Challenging, but so fun. One of my very favorite things about seeing all of the lighthouses in Michigan is the adventure to get to them. We've walked miles, have traveled by boat, biked several miles, and will someday have to travel by airplane. It's such a fun and exciting adventure every single time.
