June small goals

We're already a full week into June… holy moly! I’m excited for this month, because summer is officially here. It’s not technically summer yet, but it sure does feel like it. We’re supposed to hit the 90s this weekend! This month is chocked full of plans that kick off summer festivities — lots of social gatherings (bachelorette parties, shows, etc.) and at the end of the month I have a full week off for the fourth of July. I haven’t had a week off since last June, so I’m really excited for that. While I’m hoping time slows down a little (I’m going to try to apply the brakes as much as I can), I still have a few goals I want to accomplish!

Hello June

Hi friends! Long time, no see! Way unintentional blog break there, but geez, life is zooming by. Since I saw you last (here at least), we went to Ann Arbor for Memorial Day weekend, rode 20 miles around Muskegon for the annual Pub Pedal (my legs are STILL sore!), went to an outdoor Eat/Shop/Rock event where Eric's band played, and I've been kicking butt at working at a small secret project. Kudos if you caught it on my Instastories! If not, I'll be sharing more soon. We've just been very busy, and I'm trying to prioritize, but it's definitely a challenge. I have a blog post coming up on our Ann Arbor trip, and I need to get my June small goals up, and I finally filmed a little video tonight with a hair tutorial, so I just need to get that edited and ready to go! Lots to do, and summer is here, which means life gets busy in the best way!

Wedding Guest Style with Zappos + Adrianna Papell

Sponsored by Zappos

One thing I’m looking forward to this summer… wedding season! We have two upcoming weddings this summer, and I’m really looking forward to both of them. One thing that’s been on my mind though (of course) is… what to wear? We have two very different upcoming styles — a beach wedding, and a barn wedding. I knew I wanted to find something cute, casual and fun for summer that’ll fit both occasions. I’m teamed up with Zappos and Adrianna Papell to show what I’d choose to wear as a wedding guest — this adorable cold shoulder floral dress with these woven canvas mules! Luckily, plenty of adorable wedding styles are available through Zappos.com… and if you’re a Zappos Rewards member, you’re eligible for free expedited shipping and free returns too.

My love for tulips

Phew! May is one of my favorite months to blog, and I'm totally dropping the ball. It's just been a whirlwind honestly. I can't believe we're almost to the middle of the month... when it feels like it just began! Thankfully though, we took a time out, and drove to Holland to see the tulips last night. It was 70 degrees, warm, and I couldn't wait to get out of work and head to the lakeshore. We stopped to Veldheer Tulip Gardens. We sort of alternate between this place and Windmill Island every year, but this year, the timing just worked out better here! And I'm so glad we came. It was so pretty, and I absolutely LOVE the rows of colorful tulips! If you live in Michigan, and haven't been to Holland during Tulip Time yet, put it on your bucket list!

May small goals

Yay to May! This is my favorite spring month, and I’m really looking forward to it. Warmer temperatures, tulip fields, upcoming shows and concerts, fun projects, a trip to Ann Arbor, and the unofficial start to summer — Memorial Day weekend! Continuing on from April, I’m trying to take my goals a little less seriously. I still have BIG goals I’m working on like saving for a house, and working on my diet and fitness goals. But I’m trying to keep those the big goals, and any other goals are just small (fun) things to accomplish or smaller goals that’ll get me closer to those big goals!

Red brick walls

Hey friends! Happy Sunday. Did you have a good weekend? We've had a pretty good one. Friday night (when we snapped these photos) we grabbed drinks at Long Road Distillers (my favorite place for cocktails) and ordered a pizza flight from The Mitten. After that, we caught a concert at Pyramid Scheme for their 6th anniversary. Saturday, we grabbed brunch at Anna's House, saw Get Out at the theater, and then Eric headed off to the Kalamazoo area to play a show. I stayed home and watched You've Got Mail and fell asleep early. Hahaha, pretty typical night alone for me. Today, I had a bridal shower for a friend, and now I'm thinking of ordering a pizza and calling it a night. It's been raining for 24 hours straight, and it's just one of those gray, stay inside days.
